Lane & Ramp Closures on State Routes 99 & 165 for July 26 - August 1, 2026 

July 25, 2026 – Merced County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 99, (SR-99) and SR-165 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 99

  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at the South Turlock/Golden State Boulevard Over-Crossing for pavement work beginning Monday, July 26, through Wednesday, July 28, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • One-way surface street traffic control on Buhach Road Over-Crossing from Murieta to Manchester Road for tree work beginning Monday July 27, through Friday, July 31, 2026, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • One-way surface street traffic control on the East Atwater Over-Crossing for utility work beginning Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at the Winton Parkway Over-Crossing for pavement work beginning Tuesday, July 28, through Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at the Winton Parkway Over-Crossing for pavement work beginning Tuesday, July 28, through Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way for pavement work beginning Tuesday, July 28, through Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30, through Friday, July 31, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at the Collier Road Under-Crossing for pavement work beginning Tuesday, July 28, through Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at the Shanks Road Over-Crossing for pavement work beginning Wednesday, July 29, through Thursday, July 20, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at the Shanks Road Over-Crossing for pavement work beginning Wednesday, July 29, through Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at the 16th Street Under-Crossing for pavement work beginning Wednesday, July 29, through Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at the Mission Avenue Over-Crossing for pavement work beginning Thursday, July 30, through Friday, July 31, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

State Route 165

  • Overnight full surface street closure on Geer Avenue for striping operations beginning Wednesday, July 29, through Friday, July 30, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight one-way traffic control at Geer Avenue for striping operations beginning Wednesday, July 29, through Friday, July 31, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
