September 30, 2026 – Mariposa County Library to host author Selina S. Makana at the Mariposa Library on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

One of our upcoming events will feature author Selina S. Makana, who will be giving a presentation about her work. It will be held on Thursday, October 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Mariposa Library.

Selina is currently an Assistant Professor of African history at the University of Memphis. Her recently published book, "Beyond the Battlefield: Women and the Nation in Twentieth-Century Angola" probes the relationship between women, war, and nationalist politics in Angola.

Selina splits her time between Memphis and Midpines.
