Gas Station Stabbing Leads to Arrest 

November 3, 2026 – Merced County Sheriff's Office officials report that on November 1st at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a gas station in the 3900 block of Hwy. 140 in Merced, for reports of a stabbing.

Responding deputies located a 29-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds.

Deputies located the responsible suspect for the stabbing, who was identified as 45-year-old Mina Villarreal out of Merced.

Deputies determined there was a physical altercation between the two individuals in the parking of the gas station and Villarreal pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.

Villarreal was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

During the investigation deputies also identified 47-year-old Isaac Diaz who was arrested for being in violation of a domestic violence restraining order.
