January 14, 2026 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Thursday, January 8, 2026, after an extensive
investigation, detectives arrested Robert Wilkerson, 24, of Victorville, and Natosha Sutton, 41, of Victorville, for the murder of Robert James Smith. Wilkerson and Sutton were booked into the High Desert Detention Center where they both remain without bail.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, at approximately 6:19 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a man down call at Village Park. Upon arriving, deputies located Robert Smith on the ground by his vehicle, with gunshot wounds. Smith was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigation Division, Homicide Detail, responded and assumed the investigation. The identity of the suspect(s) is unknown at this time. Additional information will be released when available.
