Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision Leaves One Dead 

September 26, 2026 – Studio City, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the Valley Traffic Division (VTD) detectives are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a motorcyclist dead.

On September 22, 2026, around 7:00 a.m., a blue Honda Odyssey minivan was traveling westbound on Ventura Boulevard when it turned left onto Carpenter Avenue and collided with a motorcyclist who was traveling eastbound on Ventura Boulevard. The driver of the Honda Odyssey continued southbound on Carpenter Avenue before abandoning the vehicle. The driver fled the scene failing to stop, identify themselves, and render aid as required by law. The Honda Odyssey is in police custody.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. He is described as a male in his 30’s.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
