September 30, 2026 - WASHINGTON, DC – On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) voted on a resolution to overturn a Trump Administration rule that would effectively end health care coverage for two million Americans who rely on the Affordable Care Act for coverage and raise health care prices for everyone else. The Trump Administration’s rule promotes the use of high-deductible health plans, loosens requirements for physician networks, and allows providers to offer plans that do not cover the costs of care. This would make it easier for insurers to raise out-of-pocket costs, sell junk insurance coverage, increase working families’ deductibles, cover fewer services, and kick more providers out-of-network. 

“As a result of Donald Trump’s cut to health care, hardworking families are either losing coverage or being forced to decide between seeing a doctor and paying for other basic needs. That’s why it’s unconscionable that the Trump Administration is attempting to kick off even more people from their health care,” said Senator Rosen. “I voted to pass this resolution and protect Nevadans’ access to affordable health care. Shamefully, Senate Republicans voted against it and in favor of raising health care costs for families.”

Senator Rosen has fought to protect health care access for Nevadans. In June, Senator Rosen introduced a bipartisan bill to protect patients’ access to their preferred doctors and lower out-of-pocket drug costs. She also helped secure lower prescription drug prices for seniors through the Inflation Reduction Act. She also helped introduce the bipartisan Share the Savings with Seniors Act, which would lower out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for seniors with chronic health conditions. In January, she also voted to overturn a Trump Administration rule that will make it harder and more expensive for Americans to enroll in health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act marketplaces.
