TRAFFIC ADVISORY 
Highway Ramps & Lane Closures on State Routes 99 & 165 

October 16, 2026 – Merced County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on State Route 99 (SR-99) and SR-165 for maintenance and construction operations. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

STATE ROUTE 99

• One-way traffic control on SR-99 at East Atwater Overcrossing for utility work beginning Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 23, 2026, for utility work from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

STATE ROUTE 165

• One way traffic control on Hwy 165 and Miller Ave for utility work on Tuesday, October 20, to Friday, October 23, 2026, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or construction related issues.
