Severe Injury Hit-and-Run
May 13, 2026 – Reseda, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the Valley Traffic Detectives
(VTD) are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that severely injured a male riding an E-scooter.
On May 7, 2026, around 6:25 a.m., a dark colored SUV was traveling eastbound on Strathern Street with the right of way collided with a pedestrian riding an E-scooter traveling southbound on Reseda Boulevard in the bike lane. The pedestrian was thrust into the air and collided with the roadway sustaining serious injuries.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the adult male pedestrian to a local hospital where he was treated for the sustained severe injuries.
VTD Detectives are urging the public to come forward with information regarding this hit and run.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
